Reference to “Pricecare” includes Pricecare.com, LLC and its subsidiaries and affiliates.
While you may browse selected sections of Pricecare websites without registering, many of the search tools and services on our website require registration. If you use Pricecare websites without registering, the only information we collect will be Non-Personal Information through the use of Cookies, sessions or Web Beacons. If you choose to register with our Web site for certain Interactive Tools or other services, we require you to submit information (“Personal Information”) including but not limited to your name, email, zip code and telephone number. Pricecare web sites contain links to other sites. Non-Personal Information We Collect About You
Even if you do not register with Pricecare, we collect “Non-Personal Information” about your use of our Web site using “cookies” and “web beacons” as described below.
Cookies
We collect Non-Personal Information about your use of our Web site through the use of Cookies. Every computer that accesses a Pricecare web page is assigned a different Cookie by Pricecare. The information collected by Cookies helps us to statistically monitor how many people are using our Web site and selected sponsors' sites, how many people open our emails, and for what purposes these actions are being taken. Our Web Beacons are not used to track your activity outside of our Web sites or those of our sponsors'. Third Parties
Third parties under contract with Pricecare may collect certain Personal Information or Non-personal Information from the Pricecare Web site. However, Pricecare does not sell any Personal or Non-personal Information to third parties. Pricecare does not knowingly engage in business with any company that uses Spyware or Malware. We do not provide users with downloadable software that collects or uses any personally identifiable information (PII” or protected health information (PHI) without full disclosure and opt-in consent.
We may provide your Personal Information to companies that provide services to us to help us with our business activities, e.g., website maintenance, marketing, etc. These third parties are authorized to use your Personal Information as necessary to provide these services to Pricecare.
Personal Information We Collect About You
We collect Personal Information that you provide to us when you register as a member of Pricecare and/or when you update your member profile. Pricecare uses the Personal Information that you provide to respond to your questions and to communicate with you about the specific services you select.
Website Registration, Searches and Tools, including “My Account”
Pricecare.com allows you a secure place to store your Personal Healthcare searches and provides tools and services in order to better manage your health and the health of your family. This Privacy Policy applies to Pricecare registration, searches performed through Pricecare.com and your personalized Pricecare account page that holds your searches and saved procedures.
Children
We are committed to protecting the privacy of children. Pricecare and its services are not directed to children under the age of 18, and Pricecare does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. We do not collect Personal Information from any person we actually know is under the age of 18. A parent or guardian, however, may use Pricecare.com to establish a Pricecare account for a minor. The parent or guardian is solely responsible for providing supervision of the minor's use of Pricecare.com. The parent or guardian assumes full responsibility for ensuring that the registration information is kept secure and that the information submitted is accurate. The parent or guardian also assumes full responsibility for the interpretation and use of any information or suggestions provided through Pricecare for the minor.
Secure Message Center
Pricecare.com gives you the ability to send and receive personalized emails or secure electronic messages. All Personal Information will be sent and delivered to you through the Secure Message Center on your personal account page.
Disclosure of Your Information
Except as described in this Privacy Policy or as specifically agreed to by you, Pricecare will not disclose any Personal Information it gathers from you on our website. We may only release Personal Information to third parties: (1) to comply with valid legal requirements such as a law, regulation, search warrant, subpoena or court order; (2) when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety or others, to investigate fraud or to respond to a written government request, (3) to any other third party with your prior consent. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Pricecare reserves its right to transfer any Personal Information we have about you in the event that we sell or transfer all or a portion of our business or assets. Be aware that Pricecare does not control, makes no guarantees about, and disclaims all express or implied representations or warranties about the accuracy, relevance, timeliness, completeness or appropriateness for a particular purpose of the information or the resources contained on Third Party Websites. The inclusion of these links is merely for your convenience and is not intended and does not reflect Pricecare’s opinion on the accuracy or the importance of these Third Party Websites; further, Pricecare does not endorse in any way any of the information provided, views expressed in, or products or services offered by Third Party Websites. How Pricecare Handles Privacy and Security Internally
Here are some of the security procedures that Pricecare uses to protect your privacy:
- Requires both a personal username (log-in name) and a password in order for users to access their Personal Information.
- Uses firewalls to protect information held in our servers.
- Utilizes Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption in transmitting Personal Information to our servers. In order to take advantage of encryption technology, you must have an Internet browser which supports 128-bit encryption.
- Closely monitors the limited number of Pricecare employees who have potential access to your Personal Information.
- Requires all Pricecare employees to abide by the terms of this Privacy Policy and our Corporate Privacy Policy, or be subject to disciplinary action.
- Backs-up our systems to protect the integrity of your Personal Information.
Pricecare also provides secure messaging in the “My Account” tool so that information related to your personal health is sent through a secure, encrypted connection.
Despite Pricecare’s efforts to protect your Personal Information, there is always some risk that an unauthorized third party may find a way around our security systems or that transmissions of your information over the Internet may be intercepted. Additionally, you should be sure to sign off when using a shared computer, and log out of Pricecare websites when you are finished.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We will post a notification on the Pricecare website if a material change is made to this Privacy Policy, which means a change that expands the permissible uses or disclosures of Personal Information allowed by the prior version of the Privacy Policy.
